Day 6 Across Arkansas into Tennessee

Today we went looking for the grave of Russell's grandfather in Kensett, AR. He died when Russ was a baby, and he never got to meet him. He was hoping that we could find some info about him or maybe find other family members.

The cemetary was very old, and there was no office, so we walked up and down the rows until we found his headstone.

There is so much water in Arkansas, we were constantly passing rivers, and lakes. But most of the water looked muddy and dirty.

Russ...it has been so much fun traveling with him!

This is the bridge across the Mississippi river leading into Memphis Tennessee.
We went down near Beale Street, by the river, to have lunch...it turned into an early dinner. Gus's fried Chicken is supposed to be "World Famous". My Nephew told us about it so we thought we'd try it. The place was very small and jam packed. We had to wait awhile, and then had to wait while they cooked our chicken. It was very tasty, and cheap. I was very happy to find our car safe and sound after we ate, because it was such a bad neighborhood.

Did you find anything out about Great-Grandpa or the family? Did you get a rubbing of the headstone?
