Days 59 and 60

Took a train ride through the Black Hills. It was so picturesque and fun. Russ in his cowboy hat, isn't it cute...he wears it everywhere.
Train groupies...they followed us the whole way. This is Buddy. He's a dentist in Rapid City, 65 years old. On his days off he rides along with the train. Some days he makes 3 trips with the train...

We went to see the Crazy Horse Monument. This is a model of what they are trying to carve on the mountain.

They have been working on it since 1948...they finally completed the face.

Then we went to the Rushmore Cave. Caves are awesome. We went on the tour with only one other couple from Illinois, and our guide who was a sophmore in college majoring in Physics and Math.
A very large stalagmite...

Cave bacon, sometimes called ribbon...

Stalagtites...

We had dinner at a delightful little restaurant called The Desparado Cowboy Restaurant. They had wonderful service and delicious food.
It was raining as we left the restaurant and headed home. It got harder and harder with lightning, wind and then hail. After about 2 or 3 hours it stopped.....whew.
We left this morning and drove through Wyoming.

It looks a lot like the prairies of South Dakota.

Then we drove into Montana...

Which looks a lot like Wyoming...
